Impact of Tropical Cyclone Seed 97S
The weather conditions are influenced by the presence of a tropical cyclone seed, 97S, located near the southern Rote Island in the Indian Ocean, which is currently moving eastward. On 19 November, Lembata, Ende, and Flores Timur are anticipated to face similar conditions. Additionally, Sabu Raijua is expected to experience strong winds on 18 November.
Public Safety Measures
The public is urged to take safety precautions during thunderstorms. It is advised to avoid high places, open fields, and bodies of water, and to switch off electronic devices to reduce the risk of lightning strikes.
Transition into Rainy Season
NTT is currently transitioning into its rainy season, with some areas already experiencing significant rainfall, which is expected to continue in the coming days.
